When we first built GoodDay, we naturally had apparel, footwear & accessories companies in mind. Coming from Chubbies, we know how broken and expensive legacy ERP systems are. The more we worked with operators across health, wellness, beauty, and CPG, the more we saw the same pattern: a brand that lives and dies on a co-manufacturer or co-packer, or a brand trying to manage their entire production operation inside a disconnected web of spreadsheets. Same thing we experienced in Apparel.

Today, we are announcing Co-Man Suite inside GoodDayOS™, the Shopify-native way for CPG, Wellness, and Beauty brands to run co-manufacturing and co-packing processes directly integrated with their inventory and selling systems. Now, GoodDay includes: Bills of Materials and Work Orders integrated into Shopify for seamless management of production, inventory and costing. We launch this today with our core principals in mind: make margin-driven operations easier and more affordable for brands with an AI-first, interoperable alternative to outdated, expensive legacy ERPs.

What we keep hearing

The pattern repeats from one brand to the next… A cosmetics brand making sunscreen has a formulation, a tube, and a carton. Raw materials ship to a co-packer. The team places the next production order with an email and a spreadsheet, then finished goods arrive at the warehouse, then to be tracked in a new spreadsheet, with multiple opportunities for errors along the way. Somewhere in that cycle, the component costs, the production fee, and the freight all need to end up rolled into a single landed cost on the finished SKU.

For most brands, "the somewhere" is a set of spreadsheets. A finance lead reconciles it monthly. An ops lead updates available-to-sell in Shopify by hand. By the time the spreadsheet is current, the raw materials have shifted again, the co-packer is asking about the next run, and a wholesale order has just landed.

This is the exact type of manual operations that almost sunk us at Chubbies. The cost of running it this way is not the spreadsheets themself. It is everything the spreadsheet hides: a SKU that goes out of stock for the wrong reason, a landed cost that is two weeks stale, a wholesale buyer told yes when the answer should have been not yet, a COGS reconciliation that takes three days at month end and still does not match QuickBooks.

The cost of upgrading away from the spreadsheet, until now, has been unapproachable. A six-figure ERP implementation, 6+ months of consultants, and a system that was never built for a Shopify brand selling DTC, wholesale, retail, and EDI from the same SKU.

What’s New with GoodDay Co-Man Suite

Co-man and co-packing production now lives in the same system as everything else. When a Work Order is open in GoodDay, you can see what is actually buildable from the raw materials on hand. When the run completes, available-to-sell is updated across channels, and component costs, the production fee, and freight costs roll up into a landed cost on the finished good automatically. That landed cost carries through to COGS the moment a unit moves, across DTC, wholesale, EDI, retail, or wherever the brand sells.

The downstream effects show up almost immediately:

  • Stockouts are rare all of a sudden. Availability on work orders reflects actual raw materials, so you can track when components need to be ordered.  Improved inventory visibility throughout the lifecycle supports planning and execution so your production decisions can be better informed by inventory data.
  • Landed cost is accurate the day a unit sells, not three weeks later. With integrated costing, margin is something the team can actually see and manage vs approximate against.
  • New channels plug in cleanly. Wholesale, EDI, B2B, and WMS partners all see the right inventory number with channel-appropriate segmentation. No second sync to build or separate spreadsheet to update.
  • Month-end gets faster and faster. The reconciliation work that used to take days happens continuously, inside the same system the team already lives in.

See it live

We are hosting a live walkthrough of the Co-Man Suite on Tuesday, May 26th.  If you run a CPG, Health & Wellness, or Beauty brand on Shopify and want to see how this would work against your current co-man or co-pack process, register here.
